Vat Athvear House

Siem Reap, Cambodia — 2010

The villa is located halfway between the city of Siem Reap and Tonle Sap lake, in a landscape of rice fields and palm trees sugar. Reinterpretation of the traditional house on stilts, the villa separates the day areas, located on the ground floor, fully open to the surrounding nature, while the rooms are located upstairs in a concrete protector frame. The interiority of the house is marked by the entrance gate and the large umbrella roof which covers the whole. The entrance space contains patio and basin, a piece of captive nature that links the two levels. The whole thing is fully ventilated naturally.
