Hotel Shinta Mani

Luang Prabang, Laos — 2011

The hotel is located on a hill away from the historic center of Luang Prabang, exceptional geographical location, in overlooking the world heritage peninsula of UNESCO. The structure being finished when we intervened, the project consisted of a renovation of a building In progress. To clear the view and minimize the presence of the building, the roofs have been replaced by terraces planted echoing the rice fields in terraces of the landscapes Laos. The pool located on the top of the hill is treated like an abstract, oval natural basin, surrounded by soil geometric topography giving a panoramic view on the surrounding mountains. The rooms organize in a row a day area, the bed and the bathroom, offering a series of framing on the surrounding landscape.
